WE ARE HOSTING VBS HERO HEADQUARTERS THIS AUGUST
Vacation Bible School will run August 16 - 20, 9 a.m. to 12 noon here at St. John’s. Children ages 4 years through sixth grade are encouraged to attend. Visitors to the community are welcome, so bring young children who might be visiting you that week. We will keep them all busy with songs, stories, crafts, recreation and snacks all geared around the theme of service in "Hero Headquarters: Where Kids Join Forces With God."
There will be one staff meeting to help prepare for VBS on Monday, August 2 at 7 p.m. This gives everyone an opportunity to see their classrooms and the lay-out of the church in advance. Teachers are needed for preschool, grades 1, 3, 4, and 5-6 combined. We also need people to lead music, recreation, and assist with snacks. albizu@valstar.net . Youth seventh grade and older are greatly appreciated as helpers, and we can never have too many of them. Sometimes they join in the oldest class as the week goes on, and become students as well as assistants.VBS registration sheets will be available on the table in the fellowship hall throughout the summer if you would like to pick up a copy. They can be turned in to Desiree Albizu’s box in the education wing, or brought filled out on the first day of VBS.
Even if your children can not be there every day, we encourage them to attend as many days as possible. Often transportation can be arranged if you have a conflict in getting them to or from VBS. Just let us know, and we will work with you to make these arrangements. Hope to see you and your children there!
